IEEE LARC SEK

Design an autonomous robot that can identify, harvest, and sort coffee beans! Your creation must navigate a coffee plantation, carefully picking only ripe (red) and overripe (blue) beans while leaving green ones untouched. Then, it needs to dodge obstacles and deliver its harvest to the processing area depositing the beans in their matching-colored boxes.

Your mission: Using educational robotics kits, build a bot that can maximize its harvest in just 8 minutes! The more ripe and overripe beans you collect (and correctly sort!), the higher your score. Ready to put your skills to the test and revolutionize coffee farming? Let’s make robotics history!

How To start

Read the rules, build your robot, and stay connected on Discord and email for updates (including hotel discounts). If you need a visa invitation letter, you can request one. Then, make sure you complete these steps by the listed dates:

  • Thursday, September 25th – Pre-register your team using [this form].

  • Monday, October 6th – Pay on the [ticketing page] to confirm registration.

  • Friday, October 24th – Submit your TDP* using [this form].

  • Wednesday, October 29th (4 pm) – Arrive in Monterrey and check in.

*A TDP is a brief technical document where each team presents their project, including team details, design, strategies, and results. Its purpose is to share approaches and foster knowledge exchange.
